Surprise me; I'm always up for anything. I'd like my first date to be something where I had a real chance to talk to the other person and connect with them. Anything from a movie followed by dinner and a chance to discuss the film, to a quiet night in a cozy coffee shop, to a night-time picnic out under the stars. It doesn't matter what we do so much as who I'm doing it with.

I've never been to a poetry/fiction reading, which is weird considering I'm such an English nerd, and I'd really love to go to one; same thing with an open mic night at a coffee shop somewhere. I've always wanted to try just about anything I've never done before--anything from thrill rides at an amusement park to deep-sea fishing.

Aside from that, I just want to learn and experience as much as possible, and get to know myself as well as I can so I can help other people; my life is about making connections and being close to people.

Writing is my lifelong passion, and I'm also an avid reader, everything from stodgy classics to downright silly pulp fiction; I'm addicted to TV on DVD and director commentary. I like to google random things just to learn about something new.

Mostly I believe in life as an adventure, and am game to try just about anything once; I like talking to people about all sorts of random things, and nothing appeals to me quite as much as a solid philosophical debate. Conversation is one of my favorite art forms.

I'm looking for someone I can connect with, someone who will give me a run for my intellectual money. I'm looking for someone who isn't threatened or intimidated by an independent woman, and someone who will spend their time really getting to know and appreciate me.

But more important than all that, I want someone I can have fun with. Someone I can go out and enjoy myself with, or stay in and just have a good time being around, talking, watching movies, playing videogames, whatever.
